Mother’s Creative Influence

My mother and grandmother have been a great influence in my life.  As a child my mother and I would spend hours in fabric stores feeling all of the luxurious fabrics and dreaming of ways to use them in our home.  All of our home’s draperies were made by my mother and she was also very active in the local garden club and made amazingly creative front door and porch displays.

My grandmother used her creative talents knitting afghans, mittens, hats and scarfs for all of her grand and great grandchildren. She also made the best chocolate chip cookies!

I would not be the woman I am today if it wasn’t for both of these beautiful women.  They have taught be so much in my life and especially have been my creative teachers.  This weekend for me is all about telling the women you love how much you appreciate them.  I am so grateful and blessed to have my Mom and Grandmother sharing all my creative endeavors with Authentic Home.
