Interior Designer – Harmony Within Your Physical Surroundings
Who understands perfectly what you need for harmony in your home or office? Harmony, as in the relationships between color, decoration, floor coverings, wall hangings, textures, furniture, space, and lighting. For some people, this is an enjoyable part-time hobby. For others, hiring an interior designer to do the job may be more appealing. Some specialize in certain areas of your home, such as the kitchen or bathroom. Others may focus on your entire home, especially if it is just being built. Many will cater to either your home or place of business.
The interior designer will first meet up front with the client and go over their needs and desires for the living spaces they are interested in renovating. The physical and mental needs of the customer are also considered. Families with younger children have very different necessities than an older couple. A business client’s needs would probably be based on the goods and services offered to the public. The designer will always think of the comfort and safety of everyone who enters the residence. In a sense, a little heaven on earth will be created for all who will dwell there.
Then a budget will be drawn up for the project. The amount of finances available will then determine what wallpapers, fabrics, paints, furniture, and accessories will be offered. The client will make some choices based on their personal taste. The interior designer will then advise and point out the best and most functional relationships among the choices being made. At this point the designer may have to work with or contact someone who does the technical work, such as wiring. Blueprints may also have to be considered depending on the project. Building codes in Seattle may have to be checked upon.
The final stage is then the expected time frame for the project to be completed in. Actual drawings of the finished look may also be submitted to the client. The interior designer may have assistants or do all the work themselves. Either way the designer will check in and make sure things are running smoothly. If the buyer is not satisfied, corrections will be made while trying to stay within the budget. Follow-up visits will also be made for assurance of the consumer’s satisfaction. From start to finish, be assured your designer is your interior ally.
