Newest Project – The Hamilton’s Home, Our Room Makeover Contest Winner

This week we started our newest project, a room makeover for our contest winners, The Hamilton family.  They have a lovely home and Authentic Home and Fine Construction are genuinely excited to get this done and surprise them with a beautiful new room.  Take a look at our first viewing of the room in this blog post…The Hamilton Home.

The first day Billy Brandt, of Billy Brandt Painting, gave the fir ceiling in the living room a new look.  He applied a white washed finish to lighten up a rather dull and dark living room ceiling.  A mixture of 1 quart of glaze to 2 quarts of Authentic Home COLOR Paint™ in the Champagne on Ice color provides a fresh new “shabby chic” look to the room. Tomorrow he will be painting the walls!

As you can see the light ceiling will brighten the whole room and give all the elements, including the fireplace and windows and doors,  a whole new look and feel to them.

Yesterday, Billy applied the Authentic Home COLOR Paint™ in the London Fog color on the walls.

I love the lighter feeling the room has and how the piano and armoire are highlighted by the blue/green tone of the new walls!

Follow along as we show you the progress of this room makeover and provide colors and tips to help you with your next project.  Subscribe through RSS and get our updates in your preferred reader or check our blog every week for the update, enjoy!

“Could a Can of Paint Save Your Marriage?” My Interview with Bonnie D. Graham – Blog Talk Radio Show “Read My Lips”

In case you didn’t have a chance to tune in on Monday and listen to my interview with Bonnie D. Graham on her Blog Talk Radio show, “Read My Lips”, it went without a hitch and I really enjoyed myself.

The 1st guest was fascinating, Simon Treselyan,  with “The Lost Art of Chivalry: Lost or merely misplaced?” a lovely man with, of course, lovely manners and a real true gentleman. Simon is educating the men of our world, young and old, about manners, respect and geniune chivalry, which really pleases me and most women I know.

Then, Bonnie D. Graham, the fun loving, gracious and gregarious host, introduced me. I had a quick moment to interact with Simon, that was a lot of fun and then we got down to the business of choosing paint colors for your home.  “Could a Can of Paint Save Your Marriage?”. That question set us off on the subject of choosing paint colors for your home that create a certain mood and helps the inhabitants feel the best they can feel in that room of the house and that this process, may include all members of the family including your spouse.  Take a listen!

Later in the show Bonnie introduced Kerry Gardette, “How to Find Mr. Right”. Challenging the belief about a “Man Shortage”, Kerry created a game to inspire women to be proactive about meeting men. “It’s not about your age or your dress size.” The last one standing is Mr. Right.

I hope you will take the time to listen to the show, where you can learn more about the process of choosing paint colors and how you can easily schedule a consultation via email or in person and transform your home into your beautiful sanctuary.
